Twelve puppies need names!

To raise money to pay for care for Addie and Violet and their puppies, we are holding a drawing. Each entry in the drawing will cost $5.00 and will entitle you to one chance at naming one of the puppies. For example, you can donate $5.00 for one entry, or $20.00 for four entries (and four times the chance of winning). When you donate via PayPal, please indicate in the "Notes to Seller" box what your name choices are. If you forget to do this, you can email your name choices to ccr.fundraising@gmail.com.

Monthly donors can participate too! Email your puppy names to ccr.fundraising@gmail.com along with your name and your monthly donation amount.

If you donate more than $5.00, you can enter the same name more than once (e.g. $20 donation: four entries for Alexa), or use each entry for a different name (e.g. $20 donation: one entry each for Alexa, Allie, Sofia and Sandy).

We're working on getting a PayPal button for this blog, but for now, click here, scroll down to the yellow PayPal button and click!

We need twelve good names...girl names, boy names, gender-neutral names...we're listening!

introducing Violet's puppies!

Just before we rescued pregnant Addie, we rescued Violet and her puppies, who had been dumped at the shelter when the puppies were just a few days old. Violet's five puppies were born on July 5, so they are 21 days old today. They all have similar coloring to their mom's.

Click here for VIDEO of Violet and puppies at 17 days old.

Addie's puppies, six days old

For those keeping score at home, there are seven Addie puppies:
a white girl
two white/cream boys
two buff girls
one preemie buff girl
one preemie black & white girl

Addie puppy update

On July 20, Addie gave birth to eight puppies. She delivered two fairly easily, but then labor stopped and we had to take her to the vet to have labor induced. Over many hours, she gave birth to six more puppies. Of the eight, five appeared healthy and three were much smaller than the others and appeared to be born quite prematurely. Sadly, one of the three preemies died that first night.

We've been working with the surviving two preemies, making sure they get private nursing time with Addie. It's been a stressful six days, but we're cautiously optimistic about the outlook for the surviving seven puppies.

Here is a VIDEO of Addie and the puppies on day four.

And you can see more videos of Addie giving birth to puppies on Camp Cocker Rescue's YouTube channel.

Addie's puppies are coming!

Addie and first two puppies

puppy 1 (L) and puppy 2 (R)

Addie delivered her first puppy this morning at 9:15 am and the second arrived about 25 minutes later. We're still waiting for the rest of the litter. To raise money to pay for care for Addie and the puppies, we are holding a drawing. Each entry in the drawing will cost $5.00 and will entitle you to one chance at naming one of the puppies. For example, you can donate $5.00 for one entry, or $20.00 for four entries (and four times the chance of winning). When you donate via PayPal, please indicate in the notes to seller what your name choices are.

If you donate more than $5.00, you can enter the same name more than once (e.g. $20 donation: four entries for Alexa), or use each entry for a different name (e.g. $20 donation: one entry each for Alexa, Allie, Sofia and Sandy).

We don't know yet how many puppies there will be or how many of each gender, but we'll update this blog as we get more information.

We'll also periodically post the names entered.

Let's start these puppies out with great names!
